Dr Tim O’Carrigan is a Sydney trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who has been in private practice for over 10 years. He has a Fellowship in complex limb reconstruction techniques including the use of the Ilizarov External Fixateur from leading surgeons in the United States.
Dr O’Carrigan also has extensive experience in Hip, Knee and Ankle Joint replacement and through ongoing education and training is able to offer advanced surgical techniques to your patients including the Anterior Hip Approach. Tim travelled to the United States in November 2011 to attend centres of excellence in this technique.
Dr O’Carrigan is heavily involved in training other Orthopaedic Surgeons, medical students and registrars. In 2011 he chaired a training course for Orthopaedic Specialists around Australia in limb reconstruction techniques. He is a Senior Lecturer at the UWS Medical School and is Chairman of the Orthopaedic Department at Campbelltown Public Hospital. He is also the Lecture Programme Co-ordinator for the AOA Training Programme in NSW. Tim is part of the Sydney Bone and Joint Clinic team.
At the Liverpool Day Surgery Dr O’Carrigan performs foot and ankle surgery. Ankle arthroscopy and knee arthroscopy. He works closely with his anaesthetist Dr Vernier to utilize local anaesthetic blocks and other techniques to ensure a pain free experience for the patient as possible. This facilitates the patients recovery and improves outcomes.
