Dr David Prince

Dr David Prince is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist with experience managing a range of common and specialist gastroenterological and liver conditions. He has a subspeciality interest in liver disease. Dr Prince prides himself on excellent patient communication and providing high quality personalised care.

Dr Prince graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2012 with 1st class honours and the university medal for medicine before undertaking post graduate medical training at a range of metropolitan and regional hospitals within NSW.

Dr Prince completed his advanced training in gastroenterology and hepatology at Liverpool hospital and obtained a fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) in 2019. He has subsequently completed a clinical fellowship in hepatology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with a focus on management of advanced liver disease. Dr Prince has both pubic and private appointments. He is a staff specialist at Liverpool hospital and consults at Southwest Gastroenterology. Dr Prince performs a range of endoscopic procedures and has Australian conjoint committee accreditation in both gastroscopy and colonoscopy. He is an active participant in the national colonoscopy re-certification program and strives to maintain ongoing high standards of endoscopic practice.

Dr Prince has a strong research interest and is also currently completed a PhD in ways to improve the clinical care of patients with liver disease. Dr Prince is actively involved in the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and is the past chair the Young GESA Network. He is current RACP clinical examiner and has previously been involved with the RACP gastroenterology Advanced Training Committee.
